Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

What the chart shows

Process diagram "How sugar is produced from sugar cane", with seven stages: (1) Growing the sugar cane (takes 12–18 months); (2) Harvesting, done both by machine and by hand; (3) Crushing the canes to extract the juice; (4) Purifying the juice using a limestone filter; (5) Evaporator, where the juice is heated to become syrup; (6) Centrifuge, which separates the sugar crystals from the syrup; (7) Drying and cooling to produce the final sugar.
