A telephone conversation between a man booking a shared airport

Section 1. You will hear a telephone conversation between a man booking a shared airport transfer and a member of staff at a minibus company. First, you have some time to look at questions 1 to 5. Now listen carefully and answer questions 1 to 5. WOMAN: Good afternoon, City Link Transfers, Priya speaking. MAN: Oh, hello. I'd like to book one of your shared minibuses to the airport, please. WOMAN: Of course. Can I take a name for the booking? MAN: Yes, it's Hedges. H-E-D-G-E-S. WOMAN: Lovely, so that's Hedges with a D in the middle, got it. And how many passengers altogether? MAN: Well, there were going to be four of us, but my colleague's now flying out a day early, so it'll be just the three of us travelling together. WOMAN: Three passengers. And which day do you need us? MAN: It's for Saturday the twelfth. Sorry, no, I keep saying that, the flight got moved, it's the twenty-first now. WOMAN: The twenty-first, not the twelfth, noted. And do you have your flight number, so we can track it for delays? MAN: I do. It's B-A, then two-four-seven-nine. WOMAN: Was that two-seven-four-nine? MAN: No, two-four-seven-nine. WOMAN: B-A two-four-seven-nine. And what time does it depart? MAN: Nine in the morning. They tell you to be at the airport three hours before for a long-haul flight, so I make that a six o'clock pick-up. Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you have some time to look at questions 6 to 10. WOMAN: For that flight I'd actually suggest we collect you at half past five, to be safe with the traffic. MAN: Half past five it is, then. WOMAN: And where shall we pick you up? A hotel? MAN: No, from a flat. It's on Mill Lane. That's Mill, like the old watermill. WOMAN: Pick-up on Mill Lane. Now, luggage, how many large cases between you? MAN: Let me think. Two big suitcases, and a folded pushchair, so I'd say three items to go in the hold, plus our hand luggage. WOMAN: Three larger items, that's fine, we've plenty of room. Now, the fare. A private car would be twenty pounds a head, and our standard shared seat is twelve, but because you've booked well ahead you qualify for the saver rate, which is nine pounds each. MAN: Nine pounds each, that's good value. WOMAN: It is. And how would you like to pay? Most people pay the driver directly on the day. MAN: Can I do that in cash? WOMAN: Cash to the driver is absolutely fine. Last thing, on the morning the driver won't sound the horn, he'll come and wait for you in the lobby of the building, so do look out for him there rather than at the roadside.
