Section 1. You will hear a man enrolling on an evening course at the reception desk of an adult education centre. First, you have some time to look at questions 1 to 8. Now listen carefully and answer questions 1 to 8. WOMAN: Good evening, welcome to Fairfield Adult Education Centre. How can I help? MAN: Hi, I'd like to join one of your evening cookery courses. WOMAN: Lovely. We run two, actually, a general cookery course on Tuesdays, and a baking course on Thursdays. MAN: Ah. I did quite fancy the baking one, but I think the general cookery course would be more useful to me day to day. WOMAN: General cookery, good choice, and remember that's the Tuesday class, not the Thursday one. MAN: Tuesdays, noted. WOMAN: It's an evening class, and the cooking starts at half past six. Do come about ten minutes early the first week to find the room, but the class itself begins at six thirty. MAN: Half six, right. WOMAN: Now, the course begins on the fifth of October. We had originally advertised the twenty-eighth of September, but we've put the start back by a week, so it's the fifth now, running for ten weeks. MAN: The fifth of October, got it. WOMAN: It's held in the main teaching kitchen, Room 9, on the ground floor. Not Room 19 upstairs, which is the art room, people mix those two up all the time. MAN: Room 9, ground floor, not 19, right. WOMAN: The fee is eighty-five pounds, and that covers all your ingredients, so there's nothing more to pay week to week. The daytime version is a hundred and ten, for comparison, so the evening class is rather better value. MAN: Eighty-five, that's fine. WOMAN: We provide the aprons and all the equipment, so you won't need to buy anything. Some students bring their own knives, but there's really no need. The one thing we do ask is that you bring a couple of containers each week, so you can take home whatever you've cooked. MAN: Containers, I'll remember. WOMAN: Now, everyone needs a centre membership card. To print it, we need a passport-sized photo, so do bring one next week. Some people bring the passport itself, but it's a loose photo we actually need. MAN: A photo, okay. WOMAN: And is there anything you can't eat? Allergies really help the tutor plan the recipes. Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you have some time to look at questions 9 to 10. MAN: Yes, I'm fine with most things, but I'm allergic to nuts. WOMAN: Allergic to nuts, I'll flag that for the tutor. And finally, parking. Our own car park is tiny and fills up by six, but there's free parking on Weston Road, just behind the building, after six in the evening, which is perfect for an evening class.
