The graph below shows the number of mobile phone and fixed landline subscriptions per 100 people in one country between 2000 and 2020. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
What the chart shows
A line graph showing subscriptions per 100 people for mobile phones and fixed landlines in one country from 2000 to 2020, measured at five-year intervals. Mobile phones: 25 in 2000, rising sharply to 65 in 2005, reaching 100 in 2010, then climbing more gently to 120 in 2015 and 130 in 2020. Landlines: 55 in 2000, declining steadily to 50 in 2005, 42 in 2010, 30 in 2015 and 18 in 2020. The two lines cross at around 2004, after which mobile subscriptions rose far above landlines. Overall, mobile use grew rapidly and overtook landlines, while landline subscriptions fell continuously across the whole period.
