The table below shows the number of students who graduated from one university in six subject areas in 2010 and in 2020, and the percentage of those graduates who were women. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

What the chart shows

A table showing, for one university, the number of graduates in six fields of study in 2010 and 2020 together with the percentage of those graduates who were women. Engineering: 620 graduates in 2010, 14% women; 910 in 2020, 27% women. Computer science: 340 graduates in 2010, 18% women; 1,150 in 2020, 24% women. Business: 880 in 2010, 42% women; 1,020 in 2020, 51% women. Medicine: 410 in 2010, 55% women; 480 in 2020, 66% women. Education: 530 in 2010, 78% women; 390 in 2020, 81% women. Humanities: 760 in 2010, 63% women; 500 in 2020, 68% women. Overall, graduate numbers rose sharply in the technical and professional subjects — computer science more than tripled and was the largest field by 2020, having been the smallest in 2010 — while education and humanities declined markedly. The proportion of women rose in every single field, most steeply in engineering (from 14% to 27%), yet engineering and computer science still had by far the lowest share of women in 2020, and education the highest.
