What the chart shows

Process diagram "How plastic bottles are recycled", shown as a nine-stage cycle: (1) used bottles are collected; (2) transported by truck; (3) sorted at the recycling centre (acceptable items kept, others rejected); (4) compressed into blocks; (5) crushed; then washed; (6) made into plastic pellets; (7) the pellets are heated to form raw material; (8) the raw material is stored/stacked; (9) used to produce end products such as bottles, clothing, bags and containers, which return to use.
