Section 1. You will hear a conversation at the reception desk of an arts centre, where a woman is enrolling on a pottery course. First, you have some time to look at questions 1 to 7. Now listen carefully and answer questions 1 to 7. MAN: Good morning, Riverbank Arts Centre. How can I help? WOMAN: Hi, I'd like to sign up for one of your evening pottery courses. MAN: Wonderful. Let me take a few details. Can I have your surname? WOMAN: It's Ashworth. A-S-H-W-O-R-T-H. MAN: Ashworth, lovely. Now, we run three levels, beginners, improvers, and advanced. Which suits you? WOMAN: Well, I've done a couple of taster days, so I was going to say improvers. MAN: I'd actually steer you towards beginners for a full course, the taster days don't really cover the wheel, and improvers assumes a term's experience. You can always move up next time. WOMAN: Fair enough, put me down for beginners, then. MAN: Beginners it is. Now, we have a Tuesday group and a Thursday group. The Tuesday one is nearly full, I'm afraid, only one place left, so the Thursday evening class is the safer bet. WOMAN: Thursday's actually better for me anyway. MAN: Thursday evenings, then. The course runs for ten weeks, we did used to do an eight-week version, but everyone said it was too rushed, so it's ten now. WOMAN: Ten weeks, good. MAN: And it starts on the fourth of October. Note that, the fourth, not the first, the first is the staff training day. WOMAN: The fourth of October. MAN: Now the fee. The beginners course is normally a hundred and twenty pounds, but there's a twenty-pound early-bird discount on at the moment, so you'll pay one hundred. Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you have some time to look at questions 8 to 10. WOMAN: A hundred pounds, that's fine. MAN: And I'll give you a membership number, you'll need it to book the studio at other times. It's P-T, then four-one-six. WOMAN: P-T four-one-six, got it. Is there anything I need to bring or wear? MAN: Yes, two things to note. Everyone must bring an apron, clay gets everywhere and we don't supply them. And do wear closed shoes, no sandals, for safety. Oh, and the clay itself is included in the fee, so you needn't buy any. WOMAN: An apron and closed shoes, and clay's provided. And where do I pick up my finished pots, once they're fired?
