You will hear a conversation at a leisure centre desk, where a woman is registering for a charity fun run. First, you have some time to look at questions 1 to 7.
Now listen carefully and answer questions 1 to 7.
MAN: Hello there, are you here to sign up for the Riverside Charity Run?
WOMAN: Yes, I am, I saw the posters. What do I need to do?
MAN: I'll just fill in your entry form. Can I take your full name?
WOMAN: It's Katie Hobbs. Hobbs with two Bs, H-O-B-B-S.
MAN: Hobbs, double B, lovely. Now, there are two distances. There's the five-kilometre route, which stays in the park, and the ten-kilometre, which goes out along the river and back.
WOMAN: I'd love to say the ten, but I've not trained enough, so the five, please.
MAN: The five-kilometre it is, very sensible. Now, the entry fee. It's normally fifteen pounds, but if you're a member here it's only ten.
WOMAN: Oh, I am a member, so ten pounds.
MAN: Ten pounds, and all of that goes to the charity, which this year is the children's hospital, the fee covers your number and a T-shirt. Speaking of which, what size T-shirt, small, medium or large?
WOMAN: Medium, please.
MAN: Medium. Now the run itself is on Sunday the sixth of July. I should say, registration on the day opens at eight, but the run doesn't actually start until nine thirty, so there's no need to be there at the crack of dawn.
WOMAN: Half past nine, good. And where exactly does it start?
Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you have some time to look at questions 8 to 10.
MAN: Everyone gathers by the bandstand, that's in the middle of the park, not at the main gate as people sometimes assume.
WOMAN: The bandstand, got it. Is there anything I need to bring?
MAN: Just wear suitable running shoes and, honestly, bring a bottle of water, there's only one water station on the route, so you can't rely on that alone. Oh, and one important thing, if you'd like a sponsor form to raise extra money, take one from the rack by the door, they're not automatically included.
WOMAN: I'll grab a sponsor form on the way out. Thank you so much.
MAN: You're all entered. See you on the sixth.
