Section 1. You will hear a telephone conversation between a father booking a children's birthday party at a trampoline park and a member of staff. First, you have some time to look at questions 1 to 6. Now listen carefully and answer questions 1 to 6. WOMAN: Good morning, Skyhigh Trampoline Park, how can I help? MAN: Hello, I'd like to book a birthday party for my daughter, please. WOMAN: How lovely. Can I take the name the booking's under? MAN: Yes, it's Whitaker. W-H-I-T-A-K-E-R. WOMAN: Whitaker, with an H, got it. And which date were you after? MAN: Her birthday's the Saturday, the ninth of March. WOMAN: Let me see, the ninth, oh, I'm sorry, we're fully booked that Saturday. I could do the Sunday, the tenth? MAN: The tenth of March, yes, that's fine actually. WOMAN: Wonderful. And how many children? MAN: She wants to invite the whole class, that's twenty, but realistically I think about fifteen will come. WOMAN: I'll put you down for fifteen, and you can confirm the final number a week before. Now, we have three party packages. Bronze is just the jumping, Silver adds a hot meal, and Gold adds a party host and a gift for each child. Most people go for Silver. Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you have some time to look at questions 7 to 10. MAN: Let's do Silver, the meal included sounds easiest. WOMAN: Silver it is. And we have two slots on the Sunday, ten in the morning or two in the afternoon. MAN: The morning's too early for us, we'll take the two o'clock. WOMAN: Two o'clock. Now, Silver is fifteen pounds a child, but there's a booking deposit of thirty pounds to secure the date, and that comes off the final bill. MAN: A thirty-pound deposit, I'll pay that now by card. WOMAN: Lovely. Now, a few important things to note for the day. Every child must wear our special grip socks, they can't jump in bare feet or ordinary socks, and the socks are included in the price, so don't go buying any. The meal, by the way, is pizza, we can do a plain cheese one for any fussy eaters. One rule the children won't like, no food or drink is allowed on the trampolines themselves, they eat afterwards in the party room. And please do arrive fifteen minutes before your slot, so we've time to give the safety talk. MAN: Grip socks provided, pizza, no food on the trampolines, and arrive fifteen minutes early. That's brilliant, thank you. WOMAN: You're all booked. See you on the tenth. That is the end of Section 1. You now have some time to check your answers.
